ATTENDANCE POLICY & ATTENDANCE CARDS
The best way for you to achieve the benefits of Tae Kwon Do is to attend class consistently. Coming to two or three times each week should allow you to see the progress and results that you desire. Every student has an attendance card, it's kept at the front desk. After every class students must go to the front desk and attendance will be taken, this will help us to keep a track of the student. If the attendance record indicates that the student has not been to class during a given week, they will receive a courtesy call from one of the instructors to make sure everything is okay and to determine when the student will attend class again.
PARKING INSTRUCTIONS
Parking is provided right in the school parking lot, please understand when we have any major events parking spaces are limited and additional parking can be found on the side streets.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
We are closed on Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, The Day after Thanksgiving, December 24 through January 2, and on many major school events. We are open for most other holidays. We have announcements posted on the bulletin board in the waiting area that list all the closing dates and schedule changes at least two weeks prior to the event. Please contact the school if you ever have any questions regarding whether or not we will be open.
WAITING AREA
Parents are invited and encouraged to watch their children's classes as often as possible. Guests and younger siblings are welcome as well. Please monitor the behavior of younger children to help maintain a better learning environment for the students.
VACATIONS, ABSENCES, & MEDICAL SITUATIONS
Please notify the instructors if you will be going on vacation or if you have an illness/lnjury that will enable you to attend classes for a week or more. If you have a prolonged medical situation, for your safety, we may request documentation to ensure that it is appropriate for you to resume physical activity. When returning from an absence due to injury, please notify the instructors of any limitations you may have.
CHANGING ROOMS AND A PLACE TO HANG YOUR BELONGINGS
The bathrooms can be used as a changing room and they are for students and families only. For safety reasons, children should be escorted when walking to the bathrooms. Hooks are provided for jackets or sweatshirts and shelves are provided for shoes and bags. Please be reminded to keep the school as neat as possible, this is your school, don't you want it to look great?
STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
If you do choose to drop off your child, please do so as close as possible to the front of the school. It is also recommended that you wait until your children have entered the front doors of the school before leaving. Occasionally, students are told announcements or information regarding upcoming events, please ask your child if they have any information for you or you can call the school for any upcoming events.
DRESS CODE
Please wear a clean and neat school uniform for every class. Uniforms and safety gear pads should be washed regularly. BELTS SHOULD NOT BE WASHED. For safety reasons, no jewelry is allowed to be worn during class.
LOST AND FOUND
At the end of each day, lost and found items are placed in the back on the shelves or hung on hooks. International Martial Arts is not responsible for any item left behind. We strongly recommend writing, with a black permanent marker, your child's name on every one of your items.
FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS
Our goal is to provide you with an "International" experience every time you come to our school. Please let us know how we are doing. Please place any comments or suggestions in our suggestion box.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
We host children's birthday parties after classes on Saturday. There is a reasonable fee, please ask the front desk for a birthday party brochure. Please make reservations a couple weeks in advance. If you think your child's class is fun wait until you see the party!!
